Roles and permissions

Overview​

Assign Roles maps people to roles. Roles decide which menus they see.

Who can use it​

School admins.

Where to find it​

Sidebar → Assign Roles. Page title: Roles & Permissions.

Before you start​

Give each person only the role they need. Parents need the Parent role.

How to use it​

Grant a role to a user​

  1. Open Assign Roles.
  2. Find the user.
  3. Change or add the role.
  4. Save. Ask the user to refresh or sign in again.

Troubleshoot a missing menu​

  1. Confirm the user has the role that includes that menu.
  2. If the feature is still missing, check Plan & Features and Feature Flags.
  3. Confirm Teaching vs Management still shows the section.

Tips​

  • People with more than one role see the combined menus.
  • Test with a non-admin account after large role changes.

If you get stuck​

  • “No users found.” — check filters.
  • This page assigns roles; it is not a checkbox list of every action. Ask GrowWise support if you need a custom role.
